So how does one go from being a ranch hand to working in IT? That’s a story for Client Support Specialist II Corbin Flechsig (pronounced FLEX-ig), who recently celebrated his first year with ZAG.
Corbin’s first job was on a ranch while he attended college to earn his degree in network systems administration. He was tasked with doing everything from clearing hay from the field and stacking it in the barn, to giving horse riding lessons and taking guests on trail rides.
“If I wasn’t in IT, I would be working in ranching and working towards owning my own ranch,” Corbin said. “From working as a ranch hand, I learned that no matter the obstacle, if you keep your persistence, you can get through it (horses are extremely stubborn).”
Corbin took these lessons and applied them to his role in providing persistent support for ZAG’s managed services clients, who leverage ZAG as an extension of their internal IT teams to offer day-to-day technical support and service.

How and when did you get your start in the technology industry?
I started my career in technology and IT at 18 years old working as a contractor for Hewlett Packard after earning my associate’s degree in network systems administration.
Why did you decide to join ZAG?
In a previous role, I worked with Vice President of Service Delivery Christie Fisher, who often talked about ZAG and the work being done. It seemed like the perfect fit and a company that I would love to work for, so I applied for a role.
What are the responsibilities you have in your role at ZAG?
I help manage the incoming work of the Client Services team to ensure that the reported technology-related issues are being worked. I also help with data analysis and metrics reports for our clients.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Never undervalue yourself or your knowledge.

I have won the Idaho State Doubles bowling tournament and placed 19th in the nation in the USBC National Doubles tournament.
What is your dream travel destination?
Anywhere with a beach and sunshine. My favorite place to go is Roatan, Honduras, and I recently came back from my third trip there.
